La Costa is a large community within Carlsbad; an area built in the nineteen-eighties that is known for its great range of homes. La Costa is located in the South East of Carlsbad and borders Encinitas, Olivenhain and San Marcos.
La Costa has the highest concentration of affordable townhomes and condos in Carlsbad, appealing to young couples, retirees, renters and others who want to live in an exclusive area for an affordable cost. Larger town homes and luxury family homes are also available, and many have gorgeous views of the beautiful Omni La Costa golf course, which hosts world and national championships. Just north of these La Costa communities is La Costa Ridge and La Costa Greens. La Costa Greens located at the northeastern end of La Costa, consists of 12 sub-communities that are surrounded by inviting parks, recreational trails and conveniently positioned near local shopping centers.
There are four high-performing school districts in Carlsbad, in addition to a number of private schools, offering specialties in STEM/STEAM, the arts, International Baccalaureate and other curricula.
