Solana Beach’s City Hall hosts rotating art exhibits, and the artists of the community are active in beautifying the area in unique ways. First developed in the 1920s, Solana Beach became an incorporated city in 1986.

The Solana Beach School District consists of seven elementary schools that serve the communities of Solana Beach, Carmel Valley, Fairbanks Ranch, and Rancho Santa Fe.  High school students living in Solana Beach can go to schools in the San Dieguito Union High School District.

San Dieguito Union High School District serves students from five elementary school districts in North County: Solana Beach, Cardiff, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, and Del Mar.
